چکیده

Abstract Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease or histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis is a benign condition of the lymphatic tissue whose cause has not been fully elucidated. Although it thought that various viral infections are involved in onset disease, its immunological characteristics expressed by proliferation cytotoxic CD8-positive T lymphocytes and phagocytosis place at border autoimmunity. Sharing mechanisms, clinical manifestations, epidemiological data (both described young women) with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), association two pathologies represents challenge for both clinicians pathologists. We present case woman SLE immunological, haematological articular involvement, who associates few months after diagnosis significant swelling submandibular glands latero-cervical lymphadenopathy. Histopathological immunohistochemical examinations subsequently certify associated autoimmune disease.

Kikuchi–Fujimoto disease and systemic lupus erythematosus

Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease, or histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis, is an infrequent idiopathic disorder. It has been associated with autoimmune disorders, of which systemic lupus erythematosus is the most outstanding. The basis of its diagnosis relies on the histological examination of lymph nodes, which typically reveals necrosis surrounded by histiocytes with crescentic nucleus, immunoblasts...

The Enigmatic Kikuchi-Fujimoto Disease: A Case Report and Review

We report this case of a 33-year-old African American woman who presented to the clinic with preauricular and submandibular masses that she had noticed 6 weeks earlier. She gave a remote history of noticing bilateral cervical masses 3 years prior to this presentation that had not been investigated at the time and resolved spontaneously. [Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease prior to childhood-systemic lupus erythematosus diagnosis].

Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD) is a self-limiting histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis of unknown origin. Of note, KFD was infrequently reported in adult systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), with rare occurrence in childhood-SLE (C-SLE) patients. To our knowledge, the prevalence of KFD in the paediatric lupus population was not studied. Therefore, in a period of 29 consecutive years, 5,682 pati...

Kikuchi–Fujimoto disease associated with systemic lupus erythematosus

A cervical lymph node biopsy from a 38-year-old woman initially revealed necrotising lymphadenitis. Her case is presented herein. An exhaustive examination that included renal biopsy did not suggest systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). She was diagnosed with Kikuchi-Fujimoto Disease (KFD) and was treated with prednisone. One year later, a renal biopsy performed for renal failure revealed Class I...
